We had a great apartment in Athens which was perfect for our teens and tweens. Why book an apartment with teens and tweens? We prefer to book an apartment when travelling with our teens and tweens rather than a hotel. A hotel is ok for a one or two night stay. However, we like to have a living room and a terrace / balcony when staying for longer. We all need time - and space - to chill when we are not out sightseeing. Yes, really! You can do this and it’s not illegal! I’m not suggesting you can pitch up with your cans of paint and start tagging any available remnant of wall. I have been to Brussels a number of times, on my own, with friends and with my husband. Some trips have been for a few days. Others have just been for a quick lunch in the Grand Place before heading off elsewhere in Europe on a train. I wasn't however sure how much there would be to interest teens and tweens in Belgium. Here are my Top Things to Pack for a short-break in Athens with teens or tweens Beautiful beach on Aegina Island! The Parthenon! Photo stop at the Corinth Canal! 1. Sun cream and sunhats Even in mid-April, temperatures were in the late 20s. The narrow streets and covered outdoor terraces of the historic centre do offer shade. However, tempted by thoughts of fries and waffles, my then 9 and 10 year olds were keen for a Belgian adventure!
